Scientism is the creative imagining with "facts" as
known by a given people in a given historic
period. In this light, Genesis 1 is
a Scientism chapter. It shows how biblical people creatively imagined
the world to be, given how they understood the "facts."
Moreover,
our Earthfolk presentation about the Living Earth is
a theme in our Scientism Big Story. We imagine with the fact,
hypotheses, theories and insights heavily influenced by the
quantum sciences, Gaia theory, holistic methodologies, etc.
Since it historically developed from
within the Abrahamic biblical tradition, the Scientism Big Story
has two major versions.
One—Sacred Scientism—mingles
and integrates elements and themes of the biblical tradition.
The other
describes itself as a Non-sacred Scientism,
that is, not having any elements or themes related to any sacred
tradition.
In the biblically influenced Sacred Scientism there
are two
camps, namely, a) The Sixth Day Scientism and
b) Stewardship Scientism. These
two camps position scientific data within a Abrahamic or
quasi-Abrahamic
Story.
The Non-sacred Scientism finds no usefulness in traditional
Abrahamic stories.
