Scientism holds that scientists can enter an objective,
value-neutral space where the results of observation
and interpretation can be universally expressed
and applied.
The essence of this scientific space is that it
lacks any subjectivity, here, meaning an observation
or interpretation tainted by individual
emotions and so, by this taint, polluted and inapplicable
to other than
the individual observer.
We Earthfolk hold that—to achieve this
state of objectivity—the scientist has to tap into a deeply
embedded emotion which nurtures detachment.
It is an emotion which consciously seeks to discipline the senses in
terms of moderating and modulating them so that they do not “interfere” with
objective analysis and interpretation.
