Two camps: Sacred and Non-Sacred
Secularism
As with Scientism, there are two
camps within the Secular Big Story.
One mingles the
Abrahamic with the Secular
producing a “Sacred Secularism.” This
is best exemplified by the history, vision and character of "America."
The other is “Non-Sacred
Secularism” which is less defined by a specific
nation as it is by the emergence of the peculiar phenomenon
described as "cyberspace" which
is a “virtual
reality” that
is made present by a technologically structured world-wide
web—the Internet.
Together,
America and the
Internet are the
dominant Secular forces
that are creating and shaping the
vision of "globalization" which is (re)defining
what it
means to human.
Together, they provide insights into
how the Warrior's Quest is being
creatively imagined and
makes present the
deeply embedded emotions that ground the
currently dominant vision of
globalization.
