The four common themes
that, over time, the counter-movements rejected and responded
to were the beliefs drawn from the dominant political
and spiritual traditions that supported and fought the Cold War.
These
four themes form the core beliefs that grounded
and
inspired the movement to militarize
Earth and outer space.
They include:
1) Life is sourced in an emotion
of dreadful fear—of gods or humans or the meaninglessness of life,
itself
2) Identifying and naming the Other (stranger,
alien, foreigner) as enemy,
3) A spirituality and culture that seeks to annihilate the goddess
and/or the feminine and
4) that expresses its heartfelt values through a self-fulfilling
apocalyptic story of self-annihilation.
