Secularism values human rights above all, and
is basically optimistic about the future—what is called "secular humanism."

Yet, in the main, as a Big Story of Western culture, historically it has perpetuated

• male dominion and dominance,
• materialism over ecological stewardship,
• self-aggrandizement over humanitarianism, and
• empire-building over honoring and developing a culturally pluralistic world.

Like Scientism, Secularism defines its own moral boundaries, and,

consequently, is often caught in a self-defeating relativism and

ultimately expresses a "means justifies the end" and

"to the victor goes the spoils" value system.
