It is the Secular vision, then, that
concerns Earthfolk most.
The special spaces constructed for
the ritual of creatively imagining mass destruction are no longer
necessary. What was achieved in those special places was ritually
successful, that is, today the consciousness
of the every-day person has been transformed.
Everyone is now aware that they are living in the Nuclear
Age.
More, that the unimaginable
act of total global destruction is a social given.
People hear the nuclear time bomb ticking
but they, so it seems, ignore it. Debates
do not rage about the morality of mass destruction.
The emotion of dreadful fear so deeply threads
through the Age that it has numbed just about every
human being’s heart.
