The atom bomb revealed that—how
we humans feel—dictates how we think.
It was not thinking
that drove the Manhattan Project scientists to create the
bomb—
rational discourse would never have affirmed,
"Should we make a bomb that will kill us all?"
Rather, a deep, heartfelt dread and fear
drove them.
What is the source of
this emotion of dreadful fear? It is sourced in
society's deep cultural story(ies) of origin.
These are stories that anchor
both the individual's and society's communal
heart. These stories are expressed through the narratives Earthfolk
call Big Stories. The three globally
dominant Big Stories that Earthfolk examine are
the Abrahamic, Scientism, and Secular.
How can you realize
the grip which the Atomic Bomb has upon your
mind and heart?
This is a very difficult task, a
true ordeal, an arduous personal journey.
You will
have to come to see and feel as
if you were a
sojourning alien—like an Earthfolk. You will have to
challenge the given assumptions and vision of the Big Story(ies)
within which you live and by which your heart is
fed this dreadful fear.
The three pathways are
here to assist you. Earthfolk know that if you do not consciously gain
this insight, you will be condemned to forever live
as an Intimate Enemy. And the Living Earth will
continue to be the altar upon which the Warrior's Quest acts out
its ritual of Endless Warring.
In this light, since the three dominant Big Stories prize thinking over feeling as
a way of knowing and making one's self present, Pathways A and B analyze and interpret the
three dominant Big Stories before inviting you to
take the emotional risk of experimenting with an
Earthfolk ritual. We anticipate that most people want to "get
their thinking arms" around Earthfolk's perspective
before they will engage an Earthfolk practice, which
is the focus of Pathway C.
