Imaginatively we were happily present
at home. We knew ourselves as one Family. We felt
ourselves as embraced as beloveds within
a parental presence intimately precious. We delighted
in being Earthfolk.
Ironically, our awakening
was an unintended consequence of America’s
military expedition, that is, the Cold War Space
Race against the former communist USSR. The astronauts were on
a mission to discern how to militarized outer space.
They wanted Earth to become a militarized Starship.
Nevertheless, just as the iconic Mushroom
Cloud that arose from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan
at the close of War War II evoked the deepest, darkest, dreadful
fear in all who saw it—and still does to this day—
seeing and sensing the presence of
our Living Earth Mother and Father
for the first time ever
simply overwhelmed us with an
ecstatic sense of heartfelt peacefulness—
"Home!"
