Sensual Immersion—Peering,
Sitting in Silence and Creative Imagining
The Earthfolk analysis, evaluation and
interpretation of the creative vision and range of heartfelt actions
imagined by a Big Story are grounded in the practice
of sensual immersion. This is a creatively imaginative discipline
wherein Big Story information gathered from the five senses
is immersed in the deeply embedded personal emotions
experienced by the individual Seer as he opens to the melding and melting of mind with heart through the stimulation and activation of every distinct
human sense.
A Big Story's narrative is read and heard.
Its rituals enacted and/or participated in. Songs are sung.
Bells
rung. Honored pennons saluted. Icons respected. Incense smelled.
Meditation. Contemplation. Exhortations. Dancing and required movements.
Its special food is consumed:
eaten, drunk
or absorbed
by the
skin.
In all, sacred and profane elements are equally valued.
Note: It is
critical for you to understand
the practice of sensual immersion.
It describes how we Earthfolk came to both our breakdown and breakthrough moments
with the three Big Stories. More importantly, you are challenged to
practice sensual immersion when you explore (analyze, evaluate, criticize,
interpret, etc.) our Earthfolk Big Story. While you might
come to reject the Earthfolk Big Story, an honest and sincere exploration
requires sensual immersion.
